v0.1.0 - The Engoodening





Hi! It's me! Spike! I revisited this game after a while to try and improve on some things we all were thinking about, while staying true to the game as we developed it. Also I fixed some bugs so the game actually runs! And polished menus so they work with controllers! Actually here's a list of all the things I can recall that I did off the top of my head:
- Made the game look crisp at high resolutions (use DPITexture for the logo and tilemap, and rewrite SubViewportContainer to look nice when scaled up)
- Redesigned player animations to look less janky
- Redesigned main menu submenus for consistency
- Added a bunch of animations!
- Redesigned the win screen
- Made leaderboards store circuit names, so you can browse your scores per-circuit
- Added a way for you to enter your name on leaderboard scores
- Redesigned the map editor so it was more intuitive to pick up
- Rewrote map exports/imports so it would bundle music
- Redesigned a bit of the main menu
- Automatically highlighted GUI elements so the game (not map editor though) would work with a controller or keyboard
- Fixed bugs!!
That's everything! This release is just a huge polish of Min Space. I know I have no right to be doing this since this game was originally made for a hackathon, but! It's playable now! Hopefully you can actually have fun playing the main circuit or even make maps you can export and then share with other people!
